That's good to know. I gave up on cranberry juice for UTIs long ago - a much more effective home remedy is to take a 500 mg. Vitamin C with a big glass of water every time you go to the bathroom. It's the water that does the trick mostly, but the Vitamin C supposedly helps create a bacteria-hostile environment.

Maybe it does, or maybe it's just a placebo. What I do know is that people are much more likely to actually drink the water if they're taking a pill with it.

Of course, as with all home remedies, "if it doesn't work, go to a real doctor."

Vitamin C probably does help by acidifying the urine, you're right.

And yes re: water and pills, and seeing a physician
